Business Lasting Power of Attorney
Last week there was a news article about a man called Mark Pearson. I was so touched by his story that I wanted to share it with you, and in turn, try to prevent the same thing from happening to one of you.
This is his story…
Mark Pearson had a dream, to open the England’s first ever crisp sandwich shop, and his dream was realised in July 2015. Since then the Mr Crisp sandwich shop has become very popular, with people travelling from all over to visit. Due to his success Mark planned to relocate and even open two new stores by early 2016.
Ill Health Strikes
Unfortunately, only three months after opening the shop, Mark began to suffer from ill health, which included heart problems and a series of epileptic seizures. He has been in and out of hospital and has since struggled with poor health. The doctors have advised him to take several months off work, and this has resulted in him making the heartbreaking decision to sell his dream shop.
It is sad to hear that someone has had to give up on their dream due to ill health and it’s a shame that Mark felt that selling up was his only option.
Would You Want To?
Reading Mark’s story made me wonder what other people would do in his situation. Would you want to give up on your dreams so that you can recover from an illness? Or would you want to know that there is a way for you to keep your business so that it is there for you when you recover?
